The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) is designed to prepare students for a professional career in the expanding field of accounting.

Built for working professionals, this hybrid program offers convenient weekend courses on campus, online, and remotely (synchronous). Undergraduate accounting majors can complete the program in two years. Depending on how many prerequisites a non-accounting major may have, it could take them an additional six months to complete their MAcc degree. The purpose of this MAcc is to provide a direct pathway to CPA exam eligibility and better prepare students to be highly ethical, transformational stewards in the accounting profession.

This two-year program enables domestic students to earn credit for accounting work/internships while in the program and allows international students to use CPT and work in the United States while gaining valuable accounting industry experience.

*We also offer an accelerated MAcc that you can complete in 12-18 months. This is a also offered on campus, online, and remotely (synchronous). 

  • Integrate and apply scriptural and industry principles to make ethical, and effective accounting and financial decisions.
  • Communicate in an effective manner consistent with the accounting profession in a verbal and written manner.
  • Analytically assess a wide-variety of accounting, audit, and tax matters using advanced research, technology, and critical thinking skills necessary to be an effective accounting professional.
  • Demonstrate a proficient and comprehensive knowledge of the accounting principles, regulations, and practices required to qualify to take all four portions (FAR, REG, BEC, AUD) of the Uniform CPA Exam.
  • Evaluate and apply the appropriate international accounting principles to global organizations per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Admission decisions are made by the MAcc director and deans of the School of Business using a combination of factors, including but not limited to academic degree(s), past scholastic performance, professional achievements, and other relevant experiences. Applicants will be admitted to the program based upon enrollment availability and their ability to meet/provide the following minimum entrance requirements:

Admissions Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. GPA’s of 2.5-2.99 will be considered with two letters of recommendation (academic and professional)
  • Resume reflecting your professional work experience
  • GMAT or GRE not required but is optional if you desire to strengthen your application if GPA below 3.0, etc. (scores < 5 years)
  • Completed Graduate Application and Essay (Why do you desire to earn your MAcc, and why do you desire to earn it at Jessup? 1-2 pages in length, double-spaced)
  • Interview, if requested by the MAcc Director

  • Two years or more of full-time work experience (post high school) and/or recommended 22 yrs of age.
  • Cumulative 2.25 GPA for transfer students or cumulative 2.5 GPA for first-time freshman (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants with a lower GPA will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Official transcript from the high school that you graduated from. Official transcript(s) from any/every previously attended colleges and/or universities.
  • Official transcripts must arrive in a sealed envelope ATTN: Grad Dept by the registrar of the previous institution. Official transcripts will also be accepted electronically from the registrar of the previous institution.
  • Transferable Units (if Applicable): Courses that meet the following standards may be transferred.
    • Transferable courses taken at an accredited college or university.
    • Grade “C” (2.00 GPA) or better.
    • A maximum of 96 units may be transferred, of which 70 units may be transferred from a regionally accredited community college per university policies.
    • Students can earn a total of 30 units for any combination of CPL (Credit for Prior Learning), CLEP (College Level Exam Program), and DSST (DANTEs Subject Standardized Tests)
