Jon Robertson, Ph.D

Biography:

Jon earned his Master of Divinity at Western Baptist Seminary, Portland Oregon; and a Master of Studies and Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Oxford. For his doctoral studies, he primarily focused on early Christian Theology, and his work culminated with the book Christ as Mediator: A Study of the Theologies of Eusebius of Caesarea, Marcellus of Ancyra, and Athanasius of Alexandria, published by Oxford University Press. In addition, he has published numerous articles and encyclopedia contributions on the subject of early Christian thought and its importance for the contemporary Christian scene. Recently, Jon has been working on the theological content and methodology of Ephrem the Syrian, focusing especially on his biblical exegesis and poetic theological expression.
