Advent is a season of hope, anticipation, and reflection. During this time, as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we recall He is more than just a baby born and laid in a manger. He is the Mighty God who came to Earth to rescue us. Isaiah declared through prophecy of a Savior who would come as a baby yet hold all power and authority. In this baby, born where the animals live, wrapped in swaddling clothes, is the fullness of God’s might – strong enough to save all humanity and gentle enough to care for us.
During this season of hope, the power of Jesus as our Mighty God brings incredible peace and joy. He is mighty enough to bring peace to our chaos, light into our darkest places, and salvation to all. The meek arrival of the Mighty God reminds us that strength is not always forceful or flashy; sometimes, strength and power arrive quietly and full of love.
As you celebrate this Advent season, consider where you need the Mighty God. What areas are you in need of strength? Where do you need His power instead of relying on your own? Are you waiting on something, yet feel your requests are going unheard? The same Mighty God who chose to come into our world as a baby is with you, offering His strength, peace, joy, and salvation.
