Jessup Launches Master of Healthcare Administration
This fall, Jessup University launches a new hybrid Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree program. Due to the significant community demand for mid-to-high level administrative managers, the need for a quality and innovative master’s program is preeminent. Our highly qualified professional program development team, with over 75 years of healthcare administration experience, created a unique opportunity for those individuals who are seeking to advance their employment opportunities.
The MHA degree (within the School of Natural & Applied Sciences) is crafted to empower future healthcare leaders with the knowledge and skills essential for success in the complex and dynamic healthcare industry. Jessup’s MHA program is meticulously designed with a Christian philosophy that fosters compassionate, ethical, and innovative leaders who navigate the multifaceted challenges of healthcare management.
Jessup is establishing relationships with Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and Dignity Health administrative operations by offering departmental mentoring opportunities as part of our students’ academic endeavors. An innovative component of our MHA will include face-to-face symposiums each semester, where healthcare leaders will engage in cutting-edge discussions on relevant issues within the industry.
Centered around the principle of servant leadership, the core philosophy of Jessup’s MHA program is guided by faith, rooted in integrity, and making a lasting impact. We believe in developing healthcare administrators who not only possess a strong understanding of healthcare systems, but also exhibit unwavering ethics and a commitment to improving the well-being of patients and communities. Our program philosophy places a premium on the human-centered aspects of healthcare, emphasizing the importance of compassion, cultural competence, professional excellence, and patient-centered care.
The MHA curriculum is intentionally designed to align with Jessup’s program philosophy, integrating a holistic approach to healthcare management, covering the most essential topics in healthcare administration. Courses will be developed to foster leadership initiative, people management, critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and effective communication.
Furthermore, the curriculum will continue to be impactful with current and future healthcare trends, emerging technologies, and changes to health laws and regulations, ensuring our graduates are well-prepared to address contemporary challenges in healthcare administration.
