At Jessup University, the Office of Academic Research (OAR) exists to inspire and coordinate scholarship across academic disciplines for the various schools and institutes. The goal of the office is to assist faculty in contributing to the knowledge base in their disciplines. The Office of Academic Research works to ensure the alignment of university supported academic research with Jessup’s mission and goals.
OAR houses the regulatory research body of Jessup University: The Institutional Review Board (IRB). IRB oversees human research activities at Jessup in accordance with Federal regulations.

Library Grant Resources
The Paul Nystrom Library at Jessup University helps faculty, students, staff, and community members in discovering funding sources. The library subscribes to Grantwatch.com for on campus only access to view current grants, funding opportunities, awards, contracts, and archived grants that will soon be available again from foundations, corporations, states, locales and the federal government. Our Librarians are available to assist faculty in using library tools and resources throughout the entire research life span.
Projects of Distinction
Spring 2024
Undergraduate students at Jessup are encouraged to become involved in the research life of the University. One of the hallmarks of undergraduate scholarship at Jessup is the Capstone project. The OAR, with the support of VPAA’s office, honors outstanding capstone projects as Projects of Distinction. Selected by their respective school faculty and Dean, the honorees receive a certificate, designation in the Commencement program, and are announced at the Commencement ceremony or Celebration Chapel.
