The Legacy is Now… Jessup’s 85th Anniversary Gala

On October 5, Jessup University hosted a special 85th Anniversary Gala to raise funds specifically allocated for student scholarships. This year, the event raised over $250,000. Thanks to a generous donor, between now and December 31, all gifts made to The Jessup Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million, doubling any donation and significantly impacting the lives of the students who call Jessup home.

Back in 1939, San Jose Bible College was birthed in prayer and humble beginnings. For 85 years, Jessup’s staff, faculty, students, alumni and donors have been participants and witnesses of “a God-ordained legacy.” A legacy where men and women become “God’s workmanship” for good works in this world that glorify Him through the equipping of transformational leaders in every sphere of influence and all the corners of our world. The living legacy of Jessup is happening now, building now and influencing lives around the world.

“This year’s honorary 85th Anniversary Gala was the perfect venue to honor God’s abundant generosity through our past and now we are ready to embrace what He has for our future,” said Associate Vice President of Advancement, David Pineschi. “The night showcased the countless ways Jessup is impacting our region and beyond. We continue to be humbled and offer heartfelt thanks to our many donors and constituents who value our mission to deliver quality Christian liberal arts higher education programs.”

Prior to the start of the program, guests enjoyed appetizers and mocktails in the beautifully decorated event space. Tours of the University’s nursing simulation labs, new veterans resource center, aviation simulators, prayer chapel, and music studio gave participants a glimpse of the state-of-the-art facility and close knit community in which students are immersed.

Celebrating the legacy Jessup is creating today, the evening featured updates from faculty and showcased alumni who are serving in local law enforcement, arts, as well as the media and entertainment industries. Founding partner Alex Medina of Medina McKelvey law firm shared why he believes in hiring Jessup graduates. With offices in Fresno, Los Angeles, Roseville, Sacramento, San Francisco and South Lake Tahoe, Medina has hired many alumni from the growing University. Continuing the momentum, the program closed with a high energy demonstration from the University’s three-time national championship STUNT team as they performed before a crowd of over 400. Guests were then dismissed to mingle and enjoy dessert served by students.
