Half Dome Hike Honors Legacy

Half Dome Hike Honors Legacy

The Bryce and Jo Jessup Legacy Endowment Fund provides scholarships for those called to church vocational ministry, such as pastors, youth ministers, missionaries, Christian educators and evangelists. This endowment ensures the next generation of church leaders are tethered to their calling, not to debt.

Prior to his 90th birthday, former President Bryce Jessup had a dream to raise $1 million to support this endowment. He planned to raise funds by continuing the family tradition of climbing Half Dome and performing a headstand at the summit, to celebrate life and thank the Lord for all the blessings He had bestowed on his family and the University.

This ritual was something his father and University founder William Jessup did up until his 70th birthday. Bryce climbed on his 80th birthday and planned to do it again on his 90th, this time with Pat Gelsinger, Intel CEO, lifelong friend, mentor and mentee. However, God called Bryce home on July 28, 2020 before the trip could take place.

This June, Bryce’s son Jim Jessup, along with Dr. David Timms, Pat Gelsinger and some family members are planning to “finish” that goal on what would have been Bryce’s 89th birthday.

With your support, we can accomplish Bryce’s dream of raising $1 million to “change the very landscape of eternity” by training and equipping the next generation of church leaders.
