
Alumni Updates
Jessup alumni are celebrating milestones in marriage and family, advancing their careers in ministry, education, medicine, music, government, and the arts, and impacting communities around the world. Read the latest updates below.

Jordan Brown (‘13), alumni, adjunct and pastor at Antelope Springs Church in Roseville and his wife welcomed their new daughter, Beatrice Zamera Brown on July 3, 2025.
Tara Harness (‘25) has event stage managed and production managed for Destiny Church’s Celebrate America, worked as vocal director of CYT Sacramento’s Rocklin summer camps, and started with the Disney College Program as a Character Attendant at Disney World where she will be working in the Magic Kingdom through the end of January.
Ruth Ann Lungren (‘20) joined the Pleasant Grove Community Church choir. She is also active with the worship team, Bible study and Heavenly Stitches ministry. She has 15 great-grandchildren.

Daniel Klinsmann (‘22) married Kelly Gaines in 2025. The couple met in the Jessup library his freshman year and have been best friends and soulmates ever since. Klinsmann is attending the UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, CA.
Rosette Thorson (‘23) is an 8th grade English and Drama teacher. She also completed Jessup’s MAT program and will be graduating this December.

Audrey Kerns Garland (’23) has been working as a professional musical theatre performer, website designer/manager, social media coordinator/manager, and teaching artist all over the United States. She recently relocated to New York City, NY where she shares her apartment with other Jessup alumni.

Natalie Basaldua (‘22, ‘20) is entering her third year as head softball coach at Harnell College. She earned Conference Coach of the Year this year and continues to lead in a Christ-centered environment teaching athletes to play for Jesus. She plans to be married this October.

Michaela (Hyde) Ostrander (‘21) married Ben Ostrander in May, 2025.
Arnel Alon (‘09) is lead pastor at San Jose Church of Christ in CA.

Sara Lawson, (’03) became lead pastor of St. John Church (NACCC) in Idalia, CO.
Jeff (‘76) and Kathy Phillips (‘76) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple have four children, nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. They continue serving as missionaries in Chile.
Billy Hornbaly (‘24) is teaching Business 100 to Jessup undergrads!
Alyssa Moniz (‘21) put violin on hold for four years as she settled into her nursing career. She started playing again and is now part of the Camellia Symphony Orchestra in Sacramento.

Angelica Lopez (‘23) has been working for two years putting her environmental science background to work helping to protect endangered species both animals and plants. She describes her career as incredibly rewarding to contribute to conservation efforts and to care for God’s creation.
Carrie Esau (‘89) volunteered for a Christian Children’s Library in Prague for one year in ’23-’24. She also tutored children through high school and mentored students of Prague University through Campus Crusade. She is also a cancer survivor and gives God all the glory for her healing.

Jeanne A. Gonzales (‘05) continues to actively support missionaries as needed. She is retired but self-employed preparing tax returns and doing business consulting.
Rylee Garske (‘24) is currently attending ASU to earn a master’s degree and will be graduating this spring. She is working for Sacramento County in the Juvenile Detention Facility.
Robert Bryant (‘24) is a probation officer based in Texas with a strong passion for guiding individuals toward personal growth and a closer relationship with God, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. He recently earned a Master’s in Leadership at Jessup, equipping him to create leadership, accountability, and positive transformation within the department and those who are on probation.

Michael Ryan (‘15) was married last year, May 4, 2024. He is working for Solano County 4-H Youth Development Program.

Melissa Hammond (‘09) received her Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education & Social Emotional Learning in 2022 through National University. She is in her 15th year of teaching and currently teaches transitional kindergarten.
