Chapel Speaker: Boomer Bennett
Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Boomer Bennett knows firsthand the realities of growing up in the heart of gang territory. By the age of 11, he was a Crip. By 12, he had committed his first act of violence. By 15, he was incarcerated
-and over the next two decades, Boomer would spend 17 years in prison, following 10 years in juvenile detention and being kicked out of 13 schools along the way.
But his story doesn’t end there. It begins again-with purpose.
Today, Boomer is one of the most powerful transformational voices of this generation. He is the founder and force behind Champion Culture-a student leadership and culture-shifting movement that equips young people with the emotional intelligence, academic discipline, and critical thinking skills needed to succeed in school and in life.
With a message rooted in real experience, empathy, and empowerment, Boomer works with middle schools, high schools, colleges, and educators to:
- Shift school culture from chaos to connection
- Build emotionally intelligent, academically focused student leaders
- Combat bullying by empowering students to lead with integrity and respect
- Foster trust-based relationships between educators, students, and families
- Equip schools to create safe spaces where every student is seen, heard, and supported
Boomer Bennett’s mission is to train, equip, and deploy the next generation of leaders-students who will not only overcome their own barriers, but who will rise up and build Champion Culture in every hallway, classroom, and community they touch.
His message isn’t just motivation. It’s a movement.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up for Preview Day?
Click the Register Now button, fill in your info and you’re good to go! Each student (whether high school or transfer) should register individually, even if you’re coming with friends or family. Once you register, you’ll get a confirmation email (double-check your address so it doesn’t end up in the abyss 👀).
Where do I park? Do I need a pass?
Parking is free for the day! No pass required, no ticket meters, no stress. Pull into parking lot 1 (main lot), then follow the balloons, signs and the flagpole straight to the check-in table outside Crawford Commons. From the moment you arrive, you’ll know you’re in the right place. 🎈
Can I bring anyone with me?
Of course! Preview Day is for students and the people who walk with them—friends, parents, siblings, youth leaders or that cousin who asks all the tough questions. Everyone is welcome. Just remember: each student attending should register individually.
