Honor Week Prayer Points
As part of Jessup Veterans Honor Week, we’re sharing prayer points for our military – focusing on protection, strength, and gratitude. Each day is dedicated to a different branch of the U.S. military carrying a similar theme while honoring the specific roles and challenges of each branch.
Friday, November 7th
- Prayer Point: Protection and Safety. Pray for God’s protective covering over active-duty service members, that they may be shielded from harm in all circumstances, both in training and during deployment.
- Prayer Point: Veterans from all Branches in healing and gratitude. Dedicate the day to all veterans from each branch who have served in the past. Pray for healing for any physical, emotional, or mental scars they may carry. Offer gratitude for their service and ask that they feel honored and supported by their communities.
Monday November 10th
- Prayer Point: Strength and Courage. Ask for God to grant physical, mental, and emotional strength to all military personnel. Pray that they may have courage and resilience to face the challenges and dangers of their roles.
- Prayer Point: Protection and Guidance – Army. Pray for the soldiers serving in the U.S. Army, who often bear the brunt of ground-based operations. Ask for God’s protection as they navigate demanding environments, often far from family, and pray for wisdom as they make quick, strategic decisions under pressure.
- Prayer Point: Gratitude and Honor. Thank God for the sacrifices made by veterans and active-duty members. Pray that their service will be honored and appreciated by communities, and that they may feel valued and respected.
Tuesday November 11th (Veterans Day)
- Prayer Point: Peace for Families. Pray for the families of those serving, especially spouses, children, and parents. Ask that they experience peace, comfort, and assurance as they support their loved ones from afar.
- Prayer Point: Strength and Resilience – Navy. Pray for the sailors who defend our shores and patrol international waters, often spending months at sea. Ask for physical, mental, and emotional strength, as well as for safety in the vast oceans. Pray that they experience camaraderie and morale in challenging conditions.
Wednesday November 12th
- Prayer Point: Wisdom for Leaders. Pray for wisdom and discernment for military leaders and decision-makers. May they lead with integrity, a strong moral compass, and make wise choices for the welfare of those they command and the nation they protect.
- Prayer Point: Honor and Valor – Marine Corps. Pray for the U.S. Marines, known for their readiness to respond quickly to crises around the world. Pray for honor and valor as they face unpredictable missions, and ask God to give them strength and resilience in both body and spirit.
Thursday November 13th
- Prayer Point Day: Healing and Restoration. Lift up veterans and active service members who bear physical, emotional, or psychological wounds from their service. Pray for healing, restoration, and access to effective support and care.
- Prayer Point: Courage and Clarity – Air Force. Lift up the members of the Air Force, who are often responsible for rapid response and high-stakes missions. Pray for clear minds, courage, and skill as they protect airspace and carry out complex missions, often requiring immense concentration and technical expertise.
- Prayer Point: Innovation and Wisdom – Space Force. Pray for the Space Force members as they safeguard and innovate within the space domain. Ask for wisdom as they navigate uncharted territory in protecting our satellites and communication systems and for God’s guidance in pioneering new areas of defense.
Friday, November 14th
- Prayer Point: Spiritual Strength. Pray for spiritual protection and encouragement for all who serve. May they find hope, faith, and inner peace through their relationship with God, and may they feel His presence with them at all times.
- Prayer Point: Peace and Safety – Coast Guard. Pray for the Coast Guard members who protect U.S. waters, enforce maritime law, and respond to emergencies. Ask for God’s peace in their hearts and for safety as they perform high-risk operations, such as search and rescue missions and disaster response.
