Bio

Pete’s impressive credentials include over three decades of practical experience in public policy, public administration, and political science. This experience ranges from first-hand experience as a police officer pioneering community policing programs, to over two decades of impacting and setting public policy as a member of various government boards and commissions, as well as serving eight years as an elected city council member in San Jose, the nation’s tenth largest city. Pete is currently an elected school board member in the Roseville Joint Union High School District crafting and implementing public policies that impact the children and families in our community.

For the past five years Pete has been directly involved in influencing public policies in states across the nation, with a successful track record of driving public policy reforms that have been enacted to law in Arizona, Michigan, Colorado, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Texas.

As a researcher, Pete has cofounded Equable Institute, a bipartisan think tank that provides impartial, rigorous research and education related to complex retirement systems and empowers people with in-depth knowledge surrounding retirement benefits to ensure all retirement plans are sustainable, accountable, and affordable. Their work impacts public sector workers and employers across the nation.
