Staff Positions

The role of the Campus Pastor/Director of Campus Ministries is to champion spiritual formation practices and programming for the campus community. Success metrics will be evaluated on the basis of annual goal achievement of responsibilities. Offices relating to and that work in cooperation with this role include the President, Provost, Student Life, faculty, Athletics, University Advancement and Church Relations. The Campus Pastor/Director of Campus Ministries will provide direct supervision and leadership to the University’s Campus Ministries personnel, including the Assistant Director and Coordinator for Campus Ministries. Therefore the Campus Pastor/Director of Campus Ministries must affirm the University Community Covenant in word and deed and be above reproach in their personal character and professional life.

Under the directives of the Campus Safety Department, the Campus Safety Officer provides for the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff and property.

The Degree Audit Specialist is an administrative support position that evaluates incoming student records for transfer, maintains continuing degree audits, and assists with degree completion verification. Coordinates or performs special functions associated with an academic office, such as assisting with catalog updates and form processing.

The Director of Alumni and Parent Relations directs the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations as it seeks to involve alumni and the parents of current and former students in the life of the university through generosity, engagement and volunteerism.

The University Advancement Officer is a member of the Advancement team and is responsible for securing financial resources for William Jessup University. The primary focus is meeting and working with donors and prospects with significant giving capacity to accomplish their giving objectives in the form of major and planned gifts. The University Advancement Officer will engage in and be responsible for all aspects of the donor development cycle including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgment and stewardship. Position requires ability to travel and includes evening and weekend responsibilities to be successful.

Athletics Positions

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will support the Head Athletic Trainer and serve the William Jessup University student-athletes and the athletic department. The assistant AT will aid in overseeing the day-to-day operations of WJU’s athletic training program and assisting in the prevention, assessment,
treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This is a part-time 10 month staff position in the Athletic Department of William Jessup University.

 

The purpose of the Head Coach – Women’s Tennis position is to develop Christ-centered excellence, to mentor and challenge student-athletes to grow spiritually (discipleship), academically, athletically, to provide opportunities for Christian service through the medium of tennis and to be consistently competitive at the championship level. This position is responsible for initiating, developing and leading all aspects of the Women’s Tennis program, such as recruiting, scheduling opponents, individual training, and coaching team members. This position provides support for specific internal operations for the athletic department and must abide by rules and regulations established by William Jessup University, the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and the GSAC, (Golden State Athletic Conference).

 

Faculty Positions

Ideal candidates will possess a relevant PhD; a relevant MA or MS degree may be acceptable depending on the program. William Jessup University is accepting applications from qualified adjunct specialists to teach primarily at the graduate level in the Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program, with additional possible accounting courses being taught within the MBA program, and online undergraduate accounting program. An active CPA license is required with at least 5 years of accounting industry experience. A relevant master’s degree (MAcc, MBA, MS in Taxation, etc.) is preferred. Priority will be given to those with prior college level teaching experience who meet all other criteria. We are seeking specialists who have experience in and can effectively teach such courses as accounting ethics, financial accounting, intermediate accounting, managerial/cost accounting, taxation, auditing, accounting information systems, and government/non-profit accounting.

Adult Degree Completion (ADC) is currently recruiting for an adjunct Project Management instructor with experience teaching courses in a synchronous format.

Candidates are required to have the following:

  • Master’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited university;
  • Certification in project management;
  • Experience teaching in a classroom and/or in a synchronous environment;
  • A minimum of 2 years working as a Project Manager,
  • The ability to integrate faith in the classroom.

Experience using Zoom as a video conferencing platform is preferred.

William Jessup University has a new and rapidly growing computer science department. The faculty member will have the opportunity to help shape the curriculum by delivering courses from a wide range of undergraduate computer science topics based on experience and interest. The development of new courses in the candidate’s area of expertise is encouraged. Applicants with a background and/or interest in data science, artificial intelligence, distributed and cloud computing and mobile computing are highly desirable. We are using Python as the main language for most of the computer science classes along with R, Java and JavaScript. We make use of Jupyter Notebook for teaching. We are committed to providing the students with strong software engineering background and principles.

Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science including new course developments in the faculty member’s area of expertise. Other responsibilities include a strong commitment to teaching at all levels, as well as scholarship and continuing professional development. All faculty members are expected to participate in University life and governance.

A qualified candidate would possess at least a master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline at the time of appointment, and excellent classroom and interpersonal skills, previous teaching experience, previous software development experience, and a familiarity with hybrid and fully online educational delivery formats. It is preferred that the candidate has experience in teaching students of diverse backgrounds and interact with students of various skill levels.

The Coordinator of Child Development is a key member of the School of Education leadership team. This position is responsible for leading, implementing and evaluating the Child Development program. This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position which is comprised of Undergraduate studies leadership/administration and faculty assignment aligned with expertise. This degree maps the requirements for Early Childhood Education Certification up to the Director level for the state of California. This position oversees the development, implementation, and educational effectiveness of this degree.

The Director of Jessup Online will provide dynamic and proactive leadership including planning, oversight, and assessment of the effectiveness of the academic aspects of the University’s online learning initiatives. The Director collaborates with Deans and Division Chairs to identify and develop new fully-online programs and individual online courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and manage the day-to-day operations of Jessup Online and its staff.
