Update #4 Southeast Asia B

By | 2025 Teams, Southeast Asia B

Halo!
We woke up this morning, and the view at breakfast was STUNNING, and then we all packed into the cars and headed to the House of Hope, Dave gave a really good talk on leadership accountability and everyone seemed to really learn from it, we played this game where we had groups of people that all had to stand on towels and the goal is to flip the towel without stepping off of it, if you do you are out. For lunch, the field workers and staff at House of Hope took the team out to lunch at this really cool cafe with amazing food! I had the chicken Katsu bowl. The kids here are truly special. The joy that they exhibit and the love they show for the Lord along with their willingness to worship is so cool. Some of our team gave the girls here a spa day, painting their nails and washing their hands and feet, and Josh made some really good cookies. The pickleball tournament did have to get moved due to the rain. Dave and Natalie dragged Corban and I out to watch the kids play soccer, and we got soaked by the rain. After dinner, Meeka worked to teach some of the kids (and some staff) how to play the violin! I can’t wait to see what else God will do in the kids and the staffs lives here at House of Hope and I can’t wait to see what the rest of this trip will have in store for the team!

Update #3 Southeast Asia B

By | 2025 Teams, Southeast Asia B

Halo!
Today was quite an eventful day. Dave and I started off the day with swimming some laps at 6 AM in the hotel pool. Shortly after we got finished with that, the team went to breakfast, and we were enlightened by a devotion from Allie on Matthew 25:40. After going over the itinerary for the day, we headed to the house of Hope, and Dave gave the kids a lesson on teams and how to work together with people that have different personality types than us. He used Nehemiah as an example to show how many different people came to help build the wall. After the lesson and talking in groups, we went to the field workers’ home for lunch before departing on a side quest to go see the hills on the island. The views were quite nice, and it was worth the hot bus ride there. Once we got back to the house of Hope, we played in a pickle ball tournament. Dave and Corban faced off for the ultimate father-son show down. Dave and his teammate ended up winning, which shows that you can’t beat an old guy! After the Pickleball tournament ended, we ended the day with dinner, worship, and then some prayer. Once we got back to the hotel, we all crashed and ready for day three on the island!

Update #2 Southeast Asia B

By | 2025 Teams, Southeast Asia B

Halo!

Today has been quite the day. It’s been such a mix of fun, beauty, and some really powerful moments. We woke up this morning in Bali, started the day with a few laps in the pool, and then headed to the beach for a bit. The weather was perfect, all glory to God!! After that, we grabbed some breakfast, which was super good and super fresh, and then squeezed in a little more pool time before catching our flight to the island. As soon as we landed, we were met by the kindest people. Seriously, they were so genuine. You could tell they were just happy to see new faces, and that kind of welcome instantly made us feel at home. They didn’t have to say anything to welcome us, but the smiles in their faces were so valuable!
We headed straight to our hotel, then drove to the House of Hope and had dinner with the kids there, and that’s when things really hit deep. After dinner, we worshipped with them, and I can’t even explain how powerful it was. These kids have so little, like, less than the bare minimum, but their faith is so strong. They worship with everything they’ve got. No fancy sound system, no big lights, just pure hearts, real voices, and so much joy. It really makes you think. Like, they don’t have much, but they know Jesus is everything. Meanwhile, we can have all the material stuff and still feel empty sometimes, but as they do, we should trust in the Lord with everything we have, even if it’s nothing that we have. Tonight was a big reminder that Jesus is enough. These kids are such an example of what it means to trust God completely, even when life isn’t easy. Anyway, it’s night here now, we’re winding down and getting ready for what’s gonna be another amazing day tomorrow with some seriously awesome people.

Update #1 Southeast Asia B

By | 2025 Teams, Southeast Asia B

Hi, everyone,
It’s been quite the travel experience for team Southeast Asia B! With around 20 hours of air time, and one more flight tomorrow, the team is ready to arrive at our final destination. We battled through a 13 1/2 hour flight with melatonin, movies, and a yoga session prior to taking off 🙂

This team has already bonded and learned so much in just a short amount of time. We have tried some yummy local dishes that excite the team members as the adventure is just beginning! Everyone has loved exploring our “pit stop” through shopping and food. I know I can speak for the rest of the team when I say we are SO excited to meet up with our fieldworkers and serve. For now, I think a good nights rest is in order!

Team Southeast Asia B has departed!

By | 2025 Teams, Southeast Asia B

Our ninth Global Outreach team of the summer has officially departed, leaving Jessup at the same time as Team South America B! They have some long flights and travel days ahead of them before they reach the island in Southeast Asia but they get a restful stopover in between. Join us in praying for this team— for their health and safety, for their unity and closeness as a team to deepen, and for their intimacy with the Lord to grow as they go and serve in a beautiful ministry!
We will update again when they arrive safely in Southeast Asia!
