Jessup COVID-19 Archived Information

Class Participation

Jessup has transitioned to remote teaching and learning for all classes on the Rocklin and San Jose campuses, effective March 23 through the end of the semester.  Physical classrooms have been exchanged for virtual ones, but your attendance at the regularly scheduled time is still expected.  (Fully online classes and degree programs are not affected.)

Each student at Jessup is responsible to interact with their professor through Moodle to ensure that you are present and completing assignments as required.  As you have been doing, please consult your Moodle course schedule for instructions from your professors regarding assignments, Zoom instructions, and other information. In preparation, you may access helpful resources at

Jessup will continue live-streaming Chapel during regular times (Mondays at 8:00 PM and Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 AM) for the remainder of the semester. Participation is desired, but optional.

Residential Housing

Residential housing remains open for all residential students.  Residential housing (halls and apartments) is closed to guests and is restricted to Jessup students, faculty, and staff only.

Please adhere to the following:

  • Please provide “social distancing” of six (6) feet and limit physical interactions, where possible.
  • Residential Students who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 should self-quarantine off campus, if possible, for 14 days from the day of their last exposure.
  • Residential Students who are experiencing common cold and/or flu-like symptoms (“symptomatic”) such as fever/chills, cough, sore throat, and runny/stuffy nose, should contact their Resident Advisor and/or the Residence Director and should self-quarantine off-campus or remain in their rooms for 72 hours (3 days) after symptoms have ended or 7 days after the onset of symptoms, whichever is longer.
  • Symptomatic students should seek the care of their medical provider to ensure they are being professionally cared for.  Symptomatic students should call ahead to their medical provider to inform them of their symptoms and follow the directions of the medical provider.
  • The University will accommodate the meal needs of symptomatic or exposed Residential Students who cannot return home and are self-quarantined in their residential housing.  Symptomatic Residential Students should contact their Residential Advisor, their Residential Director, or email for assistance.
  • Residential Students may choose to return home if they desire.  Students leaving campus for an extended period of time (longer than one week) should contact their RA, RD, or to inform the University.
  • Resident Advisors have disinfecting wipes and are distributing to students upon request and as available.  Residential Students should make best efforts to clean/disinfect regularly-touched surfaces and follow the CDC’s guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting to reduce the spread of infectious diseases.

Crossroads Cafeteria and The Shack

Crossroads Cafe and the Shack will be closed to the public until further notice. Regular meal services will continue on a to-go basis for students, faculty, and staff.

All  on-campus University events have been postponed or cancelled. We will communicate any cancelations as they are determined. Every effort will be made to reschedule canceled events.  Further communication will be made for events which cannot reasonably be rescheduled and refunds for ticket purchases will be made available whenever possible.

Athletic Events

All athletic competitions and practices have been canceled for the remainder of the academic school. Please see the NAIA for more information.

Student Travel

All student travel in association with or on behalf of the University has been suspended until further notice.

Any student who has returned from a Level 3 High Risk Country, as identified by the CDC should stay away from campus for at least fourteen (14) days and should self-quarantine, in accordance with the recommendations of the CDC.  Residential students who are unable to self-quarantine away from campus should contact their RA, RD, or before returning to campus to make appropriate arrangements or accommodations.  As of the writing of this notice, Level 3 High Risk Countries include: China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, and Japan, however conditions change quickly. Members of the University should monitor the CDC website for updated information.

International Students

International Students may attend classes remotely via Zoom. Remote attendance within the United States will maintain F-1 status and CPT will remain available. Remote attendance outside of the United States via Zoom will be allowed, however Internet/VPN access is the responsibility of the student. Delays or lack of participation may negatively impact course completion and F-1 Status.

Once face-to-face classes resume, International students will be required to attend classes in-person. Exceptions for students outside of the United States and subject to international travel ban cannot be made.

International students requesting a Leave of Absence or Early Withdrawal will have their current courses dropped and are subject to standard refund policies. SEVIS records will be terminated for the reason of Authorized Early Withdrawal and students must return to their home country. International Students who request a Leave of Absence or Early Withdrawal are eligible to have their F-1 Status reinstated within five (5) months if students re-enroll in a full course of study.

Please communicate any travel decisions with the DSO.
